I’m Shana McCarthy, and I'm beyond excited to invite you to our stitching haven in Norwell. My story with needlepoint began on a whim in the summer of 2023. A simple scroll through Instagram led me to some vibrantly painted canvases, and I thought, “Why not give it a try?” From that first stitch, I was hooked! My curiosity turned into a full-blown passion that I couldn’t shake—and soon I found myself dreaming of a space to share this joy with others.

When I went searching for a local needlepoint shop, I was surprised to find there wasn’t one nearby. That's when the idea for Greenhouse Needlepoint took root, a bright, cozy spot where fellow stitchers could gather, create, and unwind together. Imagine a place where you can settle in with friends, meet other needlepoint enthusiasts, savor a cup of coffee or even a glass of wine, and maybe join a round of Mahjong (my personal favorite!).

For me, needlepoint is the ultimate blend of calm and creativity. Whether I’m stitching solo, keeping busy in a carpool line, or sharing laughs at a stitching retreat, it’s a craft that fits into every corner of life. Some days, I let the meditative rhythm of a basketweave stitch soothe my mind; other days, I dive into something complex and colorful. Along this journey, I’ve made incredible friends and collected beautiful memories, Greenhouse Needlepoint is my way of paying that forward.

Why “Greenhouse”? Because just like in a greenhouse, where nurturing care brings blooms to life, I hope this shop will be a place for your own creative growth. Here, you’ll find everything you need to bring your visions to life, from canvases and threads to friendship and inspiration.

Outside the shop, I live in nearby Hingham with my three amazing kids. And when I’m not stitching or running the shop, you’ll probably find me by the pool in Sea Island, needle in hand, ready for another game of Mahjong.
